5 Steps To Get The Most Out Of Your Coils

Hi guys! I would like to talk a bit about different ways that you can get the most out of your coils before it gets burnt and give you that unpleasant feeling. There are many potential reasons as to why this happens and the general reason is to do with the coils in your tank. But before we proceed any further, I will teach you the basics of how a coil works and why coils may be the problem that gives you the burnt taste.

What is a coil?

The coil is the heating element within your tank or atomizer. So when you press the power button to heat up your vape before inhaling, the battery within the vape mod will transmit an electrical current to heat up the coil. Around the coil itself is the wicking material (usually known as organic cotton) where the e-juice gets absorbed to. Heating up the coil will result in the vaporization of the liquid within the cotton and creating the vapor that it is supposed to. The reason as to why you would get a burnt hit is because the cotton is either dry or has some dry spots because it was not saturated completely. However, having saturated cotton does not mean that it would not get burnt even if you have a full tank of e-liquid and this is where you need to ensure that you have correctly primed your coils.

Prime your coils before Vaping

The first way is to ensure that you prime your coils before vaping. This is a very important step as it because it lowers the chance of your wicking material getting burnt. Priming is the act of placing a couple of drops of your e-liquid onto the coils and the wicking material before turning on your vape and start vaping. To know if you are doing it right, you should be priming your wick enough so that it looks wet, but not completely soaked because it could lead to some of the juice overflowing or leaking out of the tank. A common problem that users still face is that they might still get a burning taste even after priming. This happens because of the atomizer heads where when the user tries to prime it, they’re most likely just putting in a couple of drops of where they can just see the wick instead of doing it properly. where they need to drip e-liquid on the wick and also around the coil to make sure that it is fully saturated.

Stop Chain Vaping

The second step is to make sure that you stop chain vaping which is the action of continuously vaping one puff after another. This results in your wick drying out before the e-liquid can re-saturate into the wick again. You have to make sure that the wick is constantly saturated in e-liquid to avoid it becoming dry and burnt.

Reducing the Power Settings

Vaping at the correct wattage plays a very big factor when it comes to making sure that your coil does not get burnt quickly. Everyone has their own sweet spot when it comes to smoking to what kind of watt gives them the best taste so it can be a matter of trial and error until you find the perfect wattage. Most manufacturers nowadays suggest an optimal range of wattage for certain coils helping it to make it more user-friendly for the people that are just starting to vape. Vaping at a low wattage could risk your coil due to flooding and if you vape too high then you can burn it out. Lowering the power you will vaporize less juice, thus reducing the risk of burning out and prolonging coil life.

Keeping your Tank Topped Up

It is important to make sure that your tank or the RDA is always topped up with e-liquid to prevent it from burning your coil. Vaping from a tank and an RDA is similar where you always need to check how much e-liquid is left in your wicks if it is an RDA and checking how much liquid is left in your tank so it doesn’t go below the juice wicking holes. A simple solution for this is to always check your tank or just simply tilting your tank from one side to another to ensure that the juice is going into the juice hole.

Temperature Control

Temperature control is a function where you can detect changes in resistance that occur when certain coil materials are heated up. Some devices allow you to set a maximum temperature for your coil to prevent it from exceeding the set temperature. One other device, you can also set the wattage to determine how quickly you want it to reach maximum temperature. When your tank has no liquid inside, the device will the user from firing it up.

I hope these 5 tips on how to get the most out of your tank helps you to improve your vaping ways. If you guys tried it out and it worked then please share your experience with us in the comment below!
